This paper examines the phenomenon of "Berserk Vietsub manga"—Vietnamese-subtitled or fan-translated editions of Kentaro Miura’s Berserk—focusing on translation practices, distribution channels, fan communities, legal and ethical issues, and cultural resonance in Vietnam and the Vietnamese diaspora. Drawing on examples from fan translation workflows, readership behavior, and cross-cultural reception, the paper argues that Berserk Vietsub manga functions as both a conduit for global manga fandom and a site of local cultural adaptation, while presenting tensions between fan labor and intellectual property rights.
