Summary and scope

When Season 1 launched in 2018, many fans complained about a choppy, "low frame rate" animation style intended to mimic traditional anime. Later releases and "patched" versions often feature smoother playback or technical adjustments that make the early episodes more consistent with the fluid animation seen in later seasons.

The first season of "The Dragon Prince" was released on September 14, 2018, and introduces us to the world of Eridoria and its main characters. We meet Callum and Ezran, two princes who are struggling to come to terms with their father's death and their own destinies. The season takes off when they meet a dragon, which they learn is a forbidden creature in their world. With the help of Claudia, a skilled half-elf assassin, the trio embarks on a journey to end the war between humans and elves.
