Upon launching the executable, Windows 10 or 8.1 may display a User Account Control (UAC) prompt—this must be accepted. The installer first extracts temporary files, then presents a standard setup wizard. The user must agree to the End-User License Agreement (EULA) and choose an installation directory (the default C:\Program Files\Yamaha\Expansion Manager is recommended). A critical step occurs midway: the installer may prompt for the installation of a Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver or a generic MIDI driver. This should be allowed, as it enables the keyboard to be recognized when connected via USB. After the file copy finishes, the wizard requires a system reboot.
