This paper argues that mainstream Lakorns are largely "MPDG-free." Through an analysis of narrative structure and character agency in representative Lakorns (e.g., Kleun Cheewit , Bad Romeo , Hua Jai Sila ), this paper demonstrates that the Lakorn format, rooted in revenge, familial obligation, and explicit female suffering-and-triumph arcs, resists the reductionist MPDG framework.
