Zeraffa arrived in Paris on June 30, 1827. She resided at the Jardin des Plantes (the Royal Menagerie) for 18 years. At her peak, 100,000 visitors came to see her. She inspired hairstyles ("à la girafe"), printed fabrics, porcelain patterns, and a wave of scientific study. She is arguably the most famous single animal of the 19th century.

Zeraffa Giraffa is a beautifully illustrated story about a young giraffe's journey of self-discovery. The story follows Zeraffa as she explores the world, meets new friends, and learns valuable lessons about growing up.
