The official DVD of Delhi Belly (released in 2012) was an interlaced MPEG-2 print. It had edge enhancement and a lower bitrate (≈4 Mbps MPEG-2 vs a WebDL’s 3 Mbps h.264). The version sourced from Amazon or Netflix uses a progressive scan, better color space (Rec.709), and no telecine judder. Scenes like the dark chase through Delhi’s streets – filled with neon lights and deep shadows – are far cleaner in a WebDL.
