The most significant change in v1.28.00 revolved around the endgame content, specifically The Underworld and The Depths of the Underworld . In previous versions, enemy HP pools and damage output in these 108-floor + 30-floor gauntlets were considered by many to be mathematically unfair, even by Nioh standards. This update rebalanced enemy stats, adjusted the drop rates of high-tier "Ethereal" gear (Lapis Lazuli adjustments), and, crucially, fixed a bug where certain enemy buffs would stack indefinitely. For players running the CODEX release, this meant that the hundreds of hours they planned to sink into the endgame were no longer a masochistic slog, but a challenging, achievable grind.
