A major twist is revealed: John Smith (the antagonist) is actually an earlier prototype from the program. While 47 was engineered to be a perfect human weapon, Smith was chemically enhanced and unstable. Smith captures Litvenko to force him to recreate the agent formula for the Syndicate.
